Visa Information

APRICOT delegates are advised to apply for a tourist visa to enter Nepal. Your tourist visa can be applied:

(i) Beforehand or
(ii) On arrival

Option (i) avoids the queues and you can pass through immigration very swiftly.

If you go for Option (ii), you can either apply online before you arrive in Nepal or at the Kiosks available at the Airport when you arrive in Nepal. Either way, you will still need to queue for some time on site to pay your visa fee and then to submit your visa application along with relevant documentation to the immigration official.

Travellers holding the passport of Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine are not eligible for on arrival visa at the Port of Entry and need to apply for their visa at the closest Nepalese Consulate.

Advice for Online Visa Applicants

To shorten the processing time by five (5) minutes or so, we advise you to submit an application online. Please click here for a sample of the online application form. This form will show you how to fill up some of the fields on the application form.

Here are few things you need to prepare and take with you to Nepal when you apply for a Visa on Arrival.

  1. A valid passport and a colour photocopy of your passport photo page
  2. Ready a recent photograph (size: 1.5” x 1.5)
  3. Enough Cash in major currencies such as USD, AUD, EURO, RMB, JPY, GBP. They accept major credit cards but we don’t recommend you choose this option due to potential waiting time and the possibility of the credit card transactions failing on-site.
